John Hunt has a site: www.planetjava.co.uk with a good set of tutorials aimed at all levels.
The tutorials cover design issues, collections, JavaMail, beans, JDBC, performance, frameworks, security, RMI, IDL, web services, MVC, XML and SVG.
There is also a style guide, that I have not had time to look at, and a mock certification exam.
In case you are wondering, John Hunt is the author of Java For Practitioners among others, and he was my tutor at university (back in the days of Ada & HyperText before he and I switched to Java).
